This text was collated to underpin a Diploma level (Australian Qualification Framework [AQF] 5) subject to provide essential foundation-level bioscience content to students who want to prepare themselves for articulation into degree programs such as Bachelor of Nursing Science.
The majority of this text is a compilation of chapters from Openstax science textbooks. The text has continued to grow and develop since its inception, and therefore, may contain information not found in the original textbooks.
This text focuses on the information that is typically assumed knowledge in a first semester, first year anatomy and physiology subject. It is a “what I wish I knew before I started my degree”. It will be particularly helpful for students who didn’t take senior-level science subjects in secondary school.
The subject that the text was developed for is divided into 10 weeklong modules that follow the 10 chapters presented.
